“By supporting minority- and women-owned businesses, intentionally deciding where you spend your dollars can help contribute to our collective fight in ending racial injustices and gender inequalities,” said Leandra Guy, Co-Lead of Fourmation, an employee resource group for people of color at Foursquare.

While this list by no means represents all of the Black-owned businesses located in the cities where we operate, it’s a great place to start for your shopping considerations. And remember: these businesses are open and awesome all year, not just during the 28 days of February.

Practicing what we preach, Fourmation has partnered with Sister’s Uptown Bookstore to place an order of “Born a Crime” by Trevor Noah. Both Fourmation members and Fourmation Allies alike will receive a copy of Noah’s book to drive the content during our next Radical Book-club discussion, when we’ll be having a frank conversation about the racial dynamics of South Africa’s apartheid and its parallels to the U.S.
