You may only enter into the Competition on your own behalf in your capacity as an individual and represent that you are not entering as a representative of a company, educational institution or other legal entity, or on behalf of your employer.
The Competition Sponsor reserves the right to verify eligibility and to adjudicate on any dispute at any time. If you provide any false information relating to the Competition concerning your identity, residency, mailing address, telephone number, email address, ownership of right, or information required for entering the Competition, you may be immediately disqualified from the Competition.

If you are such a participant from a Competition Entity, you are subject to all applicable internal policies of your employer with respect to your participation.
4. Competition Entry
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. To enter the Competition, you must follow the instructions for entering your Submission through the Competition Website. Your Submissions must be made in the manner and format, and in compliance with all other requirements, stated on the Competition Website (the “Requirements”). Submissions must be received before any Submission deadlines stated on the Competition Website. Submissions not received by the stated deadlines will not be eligible to receive a Prize.
Submissions are void if they are in whole or part illegible, incomplete, damaged, altered, counterfeit, obtained through fraud, or late. Competition Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who does not follow these Rules, including making a Submission that does not meet the Requirements.
5. Judges & Criteria
Eligible Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of judges selected by the Competition Sponsor (the “Judges”). Judges may be employees of the Competition Sponsor or third parties, may or may not be listed individually on the Competition Website, and may change before or during the Judging Period. Judging may take place in one or more rounds with one or more panels of Judges, at the discretion of the Competition Sponsor.
Entries will be judged on the following equally weighted criteria, and according to the sole and absolute discretion of the Judges:
- TECHNICAL SKILLS: Does the map demonstrate quality and accurate geospatial analysis?
- CREATIVITY: Does the map showcase experimentation with different visualization tools and techniques?
- STORYTELLING: Does the map tell a compelling data story?
The scores from the Judges will determine the potential winners of the applicable prizes (each, a “Prize”). The Entrant(s) that are eligible for a Prize, and whose Submissions earn the highest overall scores based on the applicable Judging Criteria, will become potential winners of that Prize.
6. Notification of Winners & Disqualification
The potential winner(s) will be notified by email.
If a potential winner (i) does not respond to the notification attempt within one (1) week from the first notification attempt or (ii) notifies Competition Sponsor within one week after the Final Submission Deadline that the potential winner does not want to be nominated as a winner or does not want to receive a Prize, then, in each case (i) and (ii) such potential winner will not receive any Prize, and an alternate potential winner will be selected from among all eligible entries received based on the Competition’s judging criteria.
7. Prizes
3 winners will be selected during the Judging Period. Each winner will receive one (1) Five Hundred Dollar ($500) Gift Card.
A. Substitutions & Changes: Prizes are non-transferable by the winner. Competition Sponsor in its sole discretion has the right to make a Prize substitution of equivalent or greater value. Competition Sponsor will not award a Prize if there are no eligible Submissions entered in the Competition, or if there are no eligible Entrants or Submissions for a specific Prize.
B. Verification Requirement: THE AWARD OF A PRIZE TO A POTENTIAL WINNER IS SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION OF THE IDENTITY, QUALIFICATIONS AND ROLE OF THE POTENTIAL WINNER IN THE CREATION OF THE SUBMISSION. No Submission or submitter shall be deemed a winning Submission or winner until their post-competition Prize affidavits have been completed and verified, even if prospective winners have been announced verbally or on the Competition Website. The final decision to designate a winner shall be made by the Competition Sponsor.
C. Prize Delivery: Prizes will be payable to the Entrant(s) with a winning Submission. Prize will be delivered to the winning Entrant’s address or email address, as applicable, only after receipt of the completed winner affidavit and other required forms (collectively the “Required Forms”), if applicable. Failure to provide correct information on the Required Forms, or other correct information required for the delivery of a Prize, may result in delayed Prize delivery, disqualification of the Entrant, or forfeiture of a Prize. Prizes will be delivered within 60 days of the Competition Sponsor’s receipt of the completed Required Forms.
D. Fees & Taxes: Winners are responsible for any fees associated with receiving or using a Prize, including but not limited to, wiring fees or currency exchange fees, if applicable. Winners are responsible for reporting and paying all applicable taxes in their jurisdiction of residence (federal, state/provincial/territorial and local). Winners may be required to provide certain information to facilitate receipt of the award, including completing and submitting any tax or other forms necessary for compliance with applicable withholding and reporting requirements. United States residents may be required to provide a completed form W-9 and residents of other countries may be required to provide a completed W-8BEN form.
